Evening loves! This weeks Monday Mantras coming at you a little later than usual because for some reason I thought it was a good idea to brave the mall the Monday before Christmas! Also, can we take a moment to soak in that statement above? Christmas is exactly ONE WEEK away and y'all I am giddy. I'm so excited to be back on the west coast with my whole family & I get to reunite with my sister after five months apart! Anyways I don't want to leave y'all hanging anymore so let's get to it.
Love Actually Does Exist
And this movie is proof of that. This weeks Christmas movie is special because it's my favorite. I'll make a bold statement by saying I think Love Actually is the best Christmas movie out there. If you aren't convinced about the above statement or as to why it should be your go-to when you sit down with your glass wine this week I'm about to assure you. I mean first things first who doesn't love Hugh Grant? Second who doesn't love a love story of two young kids? And third, tell me what's better than multiple storylines all ending in a way that makes you want to believe that love is so worth fighting for! I could watch this movie a million times around the holidays, and I hope you take my suggestion and do the same!
Calling All Creatives and/or Divas
So if you haven't realized by now I am what some might call a diva, but I prefer to explain it as I know what I like and what I don't and life is better when you take the time to enjoy the finer things. But as my friends like to point they are one in the same so I'm embracing this part of myself, and I want y'all to do it too (because my guess it I'm not the only one)! I want to come up with a unique hashtag that us "divas" can use to share the moments we have throughout the week that some might say are dramatic or high-maintenance but it's merely just who we are! So if you've got that creative side and you are great at pairing words comment or send me your suggestions so we can start embracing this part of ourselves together!
Tis the Season of Gathering Together
The past week or so has been full of lots of times where I've got to be with some of the people I love most in the world. From "make your own sushi" night dinners to cookie exchange parties it has been so much fun getting to be with my people! There is something about gathering a group of friends to make a meal or just to hang out that gives life a little more excitement and like I've said a million times that's what the holidays are all about! So instead of getting caught up in the craziness of the week pick a night to slow down and get together with your favorite people. Speaking from experience the holidays can be hard and lonely, and so I can promise you that your invitation can be much more than an invite to someone it could be what they need to be reminded that they are loved! Whatever it looks like for you just go be with them and you won't regret it!
The New and Improved Hallmark Channel
Y'all lets be honest there is something about the cheesiest Christmas movies that are just the greatest, and I'm about to share with you some of the best news (maybe) ever. Netflix has replaced that special place in your heart you reserve for the Hallmark Channel, and now you can get your TV show binge watching fix and cheesy Christmas movie fix all in one place! This year Netflix not only has some of the best holiday movies, but they have also released a ton of Netflix original movies that are the cheesiest. So for those of you who don't have the Hallmark channel (meaning me), I'm here to tell you that you no longer have to FOMO and if you want even more advice you should definitely start with "A Christmas Prince" (I mean how could you pass on a title like that?). Basically what I'm trying to say is you have the world of cheesy Christmas movies at your fingertips and your Monday just went from feeling like a Monday to feeling like a Friday!
That's all I've got for you this Monday and Monday Mantras won't be back until 2018! WHAT?! Pause for a gasp and soaking in that craziness, but anyways I've given you lots of reasons to spend a more than reasonable amount of time in front of your TV this week and if you can tap into your creative genes don't forget to suggest your hashtags! I hope this helped put an end to that Monday gloom and you found just what you need in it! I'm off to binge watch some "Suits" (my new favorite show feel free to ask me about it) and unwind after my exhilarating but also horrifying experience at the mall today! Happy one week until Christmas friends!
