Monday Mantras

Hey loves! It has been some time and I’ve missed y’all. I’ve realized that the more you push things back the harder they are to step back into. Honestly, this was not the way I wanted to kick off 2018 in regards to my blog, but part of life is understanding that there is grace when you can’t seem to be checking off all the things you want too. So we are two weeks into January and if you feel like you are falling behind remember it’s okay and you’re not alone!

It’s been a little over a week since my move to Chattanooga and so far I’m loving it. I think my favorite part is the change of scenery and the freedom I have in a new place to be whoever I want to be. It’s definitely not all rainbows and butterflies I miss lots of people back home and the familiarity of things, but I have felt so reassured in this decision over and over since I got here and that is such a gift!

Thanks for hanging with me while I get adjusted and ready to jump back into Days of Summer with y'all! I have lots of fun new content ideas coming your way and maybe a little site makeover so stay tuned. And on that note lets jump back into Monday Mantras, because I don’t know about y’all but I’m needing that motivation today!

Love Yourself

Justin Bieber said to so what are we waiting for? The New Year is the perfect time to create new routines and sure that usually means eating better or going to the gym more regularly, but that doesn’t have to be the case. Last night, I was talking with a friend about how I manifest all of my stress & anxiety in my body, which in turn leaves my back a knotted mess, she suggested that I good way to love myself would be to make it a priority to get a therapeutic massage every week. I think a lot of the times things like this make us feel guilty like we should be doing something else, but that’s a line of thinking that needs to stop. You are important and you are so worth loving so my challenge for you on this Monday is to sit down and make a list of what makes you feel loved or what you could do to love yourself better! Then find a way to incorporate that into your routine!

Deals on Deals

As the end of a season wraps up stores are busy trying to clear their racks for a new season's apparel, which means it’s like the Super Bowl of sales for those of us who love to shop slash are border on having a major problem (I 100% fall into the later and I am not ashamed). You name it and I promise you that one of your favorite stores is having a MAJOR sale right now. My go to’s have been Madewell, Anthropologie, Loft, Gap, and Urban Outfitters. Whether you need something to add something new to your house for the new year, you need to stock up on the basics, or you just want to treat yourself to something fun + new you need to check out these sales right now. I mean what’s better than hours of endless browsing on a Monday?! If you ask me the answer is nothing.

21 & Up

Sorry if you aren’t 21, but you can always keep this one in your back pocket for when you are. So with my new move to Chattanooga life has changed just a bit, to say the least, and with that comes a whole new world of budgeting. I know I’m extremely late to the game at 23, but hey I’m trying. I feel like I’ve been spoiled for the past two years because my dad is the definition of a wine snob but in a good way. I’ve learned so much about wine and have been lucky enough to get to drink things that don’t sit on the bottom shelf. But with that said that doesn’t mean bottom shelf wines are bad at all and that’s what I’m getting to learn as I take this step into adulthood (right now you are probably laughing at how ridiculous this all sounds, but if you know anything about me yet it is that I am ridiculous when it comes to things like this). Last week I found the best bottle of Malbec for only 10 dollars at Whole Foods and y’all it was SO GOOD. The lady who sold me on it swore by it and I was not disappointed. I figured since Mondays are long and most nights there is nothing better than coming home to a big glass of red wine I would share this hidden gem with y’all- Trapiche Vineyard’s 2017 Malbec. Head to your local Whole Foods or wine store tonight and treat yourself to this goodness

It’s a short one, but I’m excited to be back in the swing of things with y’all! I would love if you left a comment below of what you want to see more of in Monday Mantras in 2018 or shoot me an email about the blog in general. Go chug that coffee or grab your third like me and make this Monday one to remember.
