My Current Beauty Must-Haves
Hey loves! I hope y’all are having the best week! Yay, it’s Friday! This week has been crazy, but I got some fun news earlier this week that I can’t wait to share with y’all soon. I also did something crazy, which got me thinking and that’s why I am doing this post. Earlier this week I switched from a bronzer I legitimately have been using since my sophomore year of high school to the Marc Jacobs O!Mega Bronzer Perfect Tan, and I’m obsessed. After I posted about this on my Instagram, I got a ton of messages asking about products I use product recommendations for me to try. This was so fun for me and one of the things I love about blogging, because now I get to put together some fun content to share with y’all. I have a product obsession, so you name it and I’m sure I’ve at least tried it. So, not to toot my own horn, but when it comes to this I think I’m a sure bet for some recommendations! So, below are the beauty products that if my house were on fire, I would 100% grab (okay a bit dramatic, but if you haven’t realized yet - that’s just part of who I am).
Glossier’s Super Pack
Okay, some of you might be thinking that I am biased towards Glossier because I am a brand ambassador, but I promise you I am not. Serums are tricky because they are so essential and also SO expensive. A couple of months ago I made a pact with myself to make my skin my top priority, and after watching a million YouTube videos of my favorite blogger's skincare routine, I knew an excellent serum was a must. When I found that Glossier had a super pack with three serums that targeted moisturizing, brightening and clearing for only $65 (other serums can be up to $200 just for one!!!) I was sold! Without a doubt, this is an essential part of my morning routine, and I firmly believe they have made a difference in my skin!
Rodan + Fields Lash Boost
One of my very best friends and future roomie (in just three weeks eeeep!) is a Rodan & Fields rep, and through her and her mom, I was turned onto their lash boost. I was lucky to have it gifted to me at first, but now I am a junky. I have always coveted having long lashes, and putting on mascara is probably the part of my makeup routine that I spend the most time on. My mom used to tell me I had a problem because I would excessively curl my lashes even to the point where I would heat up my curler with my blow dryer to supposedly get them to stay longer (learn from me this will only make your lashes fall out ~ insert kimoji crying face~). Anyways all of this led to me not having the longest lashes and now thanks to my lash boost I was able to throw out my lash curler, feel confident without mascara, and have the most killer lashes!
Marc Jacobs O!Mega Bronzer Perfect Tan
I mentioned above that this was a recent switch, and that before I was using Tarte’s Park Avenue Princess bronzer. One thing you need to know about me is I love being tan - maybe too much. And because of this, having a good bronzer is essential. I hate when bronzers look too orange or too dark, and I think that’s why I was afraid to venture away from my other bronzer for so long. But alas, the switch was worth it. This bronzer is the perfect natural tan color with the right amount of shimmer, and I love it because it's buildable so if you only want a little glow or you want to be bronzed up both are doable! If you need a good bronzer, you should definitely give this one a try.
Marc Jacobs Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer
I originally bought this because one of my favorite bloggers, Jill Lansky at The August Diaries, used it in one of her makeup videos. Her description of how it smelled just like coconuts and the beach is why I went to Sephora for it. Before this primer, I always ran into the probably of feeling like they left a velvety feeling on my face, and like they made my makeup go on weird. This primer literally feels like a second skin, and it soaks right in leaving your skin feeling moisturized. Also, it for sure makes my makeup go on smoother and last longer! If you don’t like coconut smell, you might want to avoid, but if you want to be transported to the beach before you do your makeup I recommend!
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer
I started using this my freshman year of college after my friend did my makeup one night, and I’ve been a loyal purchaser ever since. I have always heard mixed reviews about whether or not you are actually supposed to use a tinted moisturizer or if just clogs your pores, but I’ve never been a powder fan, and I like to have a good amount of coverage on my face every day. I love this because it's buildable or you can use the smallest amount, and it will go a long way. It has the perfect sheer finish (it never feels heavy) and, bonus, has that much needed SPF in it! I don’t think you can ever go wrong with any Laura Mercier products and this one proves that.
Cle De Peau Concealer
Another find from Jill Lansky! Let’s be honest, people who have perfect skin are a very rare breed. I don’t have horrible skin, but I definitely have the occasional breakouts that need to be covered. My issue with concealers was I always felt like they would just disappear when I was rubbing them in, but this one is different. It comes at a pretty high price point, but I wouldn’t include it in this list if I didn’t think it was worth it. First, I’m pretty sure it will last me forever. Second, it’s super pigmented which is perfect for covering those pesky pimples or dark spots!
Oribe Supershine Moisturizing Cream
I got the sample size of this in my BirchBox, and holy moly has it changed my blowdry game. A dime size amount (but I usually use more just because of it smells so damn good) when your hair is towel-dried makes your hair super silky and gives it that perfect shine when you blowdry it! I use to hate blow-drying my hair because I felt like it always looked frizzy and dry, and then I would have to spend tons of time straightening it! But now, I love blow-drying my hair and I just do touchups with my straightener. I feel like other products that claim to moisturize and shine your hair just leave my hair feeling heavy, and I can’t use oil because I have fine hair (and lots of it just ask my hairdresser!). My hair is also colored, so I feel like this has helped keep it healthy. This little bottle goes everywhere with me!
Glossier Brow Gel
It’s a proven fact that brows make your face (okay maybe not, but it’s a proven fact in my book). I have super coarse and curly brow hairs, so apart from having to keep them exceptionally well-maintained, I need an everyday product that prevents them from having a mind of their own. Glossier’s brow gel is simple and easy to use. I keep it in my purse for those touch-ups throughout the day. I also hate when my brows don’t look like they are real and I think that’s why I love the idea of the gel. It gives my eyebrows a natural, but well-maintained look!
GlamGlow's Super Mud Face Mask
Last, but certainly not least, is my favorite mask. I talked about this in my favorite five face masks post, and my opinions since have not changed. There wasn’t a mask before this one that claimed to deep clean out my pores and gives my skin a much-needed detox that actually worked. It’s my go-to when I have been traveling or after a night of wearing heavy makeup! I use it once a week, and most of the time the reason I check a bag when I travel is so that I can bring it. I have turned tons of my friends on to using it, and you seriously get so many uses out of the little jar! Whether you need a full face deep clean or just want to do the problem areas/oily parts of your face you need this in your life!
